About Me

My name is Haze. I am a senior at Illinois State University and I am double majoring in Business Administration and Finance. While in high school, I took a Financial Investments class with a very influential teacher who made me fall in love with everything finance. He was a very successful broker in charge of a large portfolio for a major bank. He retired at an early age and became a teacher in order to educate others on the importance of managing and growing your money. At the end of the semester, we visited the Chicago Stock Exchange to get a real world preview of what day trading is like. I knew after that class that I, without question, wanted to pursue a career in finance.

I grew up in a small town just south of Chicago in a close-knit family where sports was the only thing on the TV. I have been an avid Chicago sports fan (Bears, Bulls, White Sox, and Blackhawks) for my entire life and I played baseball competitively through high school. After my first year in college, I was fortunate enough to land a marketing internship with the Chicago Bears. I always dreamed of working for a professional sports team and, after working for the Bears, I realized it was everything I had wanted and more. Today, my goal is to land a full-time finance job with a professional sports team when I graduate this May. I have found that there is no better way to spend my career than to join my two passions together and, while I'm at it, blog about interesting news/stories that pertain to the two. With that, I would like to welcome you to The Bears and the Bulls.
